It only takes a moment to reach the golf club once you exit the A4 motorway at Sommacampagna: drive through the town and after a few minutes, turn right onto the road that rises to the club. It is a timeless oasis, a picture postcard that invites you to relax with its clubhouse built of stone and red bricks covered with ivy, an ancient well spouting geraniums and trees shading the patio in front of the putting green. Inside, the floors in worn terracotta tiles, ceilings with dark wooden beams alternating with bricks, and cozy parlors with a country elegance. This is a traditional club founded in 1963, where those who come here never want to leave. The loyal staff running it thinks so too, as it has remained virtually unchanged over the decades. Two talents of the likes of Silvia Cavalleri and Matteo Manassero took their first golfing steps here, and refined their games on the undulating fairways designed first by John Harris, then revisited by Giulio Cavalsani, and more recently, Alvise Rossi Fioravanti with Baldovino Dassù. It is a hilly course running through vineyards which, to the west of Verona – the city of Romeo and Juliet – serve to frame the hills of Custoza. The front nine are rather narrow and shorter, while the back are very long but also very broad. The raised greens oblige players to hit well calculated approach shots. Technical details Course: 18 holes, Par 72, 6054 meters. Architect: John Harris Topography: very physical with big differences in height. Distinctive features: the equipment for the play will have to be complete: good drivers, precise clubs and the best putters. Pro’s comments This is a course where you must pander to the terrain’s frequent undulations. Some holes are really a lot of fun. Allow me to mention Hole 4, where stronger players who are willing to gamble can try to reach the green directly with their first shots. Otherwise, you can play a tee shot to the left part of the fairway, to have a better angle to center the green with your second shot. Even an inexperienced play can score a birdie here, with a little luck. A fun course for all. Definitely worth playing.

A dip into the history of Italian Golf. Since more than a century, in fact, the western hills of Lake Garda host these undulating and spectacular fairways, created in 1912 due to the initiative of a local hotelier and to meet the requirements of the growing number of British and German tourists. The atmosphere here is unique, as is the landscape – we are 100 m above sea level and the lake can be admired in nearly all of its length. Those greens have witnessed history: visited by royalty and famous personalities in the first decades, in 1934 for reasons of State the course became a wheat field, later transformed by the German troops in an airstrip and later on by the American troops as a baseball diamond field. The return of golf is dated 1952. Technical details Course: 18 holes, Par 70, 5235 m. Architect restyling : Fulvio Bani Topography: Contrary to what we could think, the play here is no so Physical. Just hole 2 and hole 4 are in high position. Distinctive features: breathtaking view on Garda Lake, a luxuriant vegetation and sometimes narrow paths.

It is a course where even high handicap players can enjoy themselves and where you don’t have to spend a lot of time looking for the ball because it is always in sight (unless it ends up in one of the many water hazards!). The 18 classic championship holes are those of the Benaco – with a memorable 5th hole, a 180-meter par 3 almost entirely occupied by the lake – combined with those of the Solferino; the 9 holes of both courses are spectacular, sharing the same lake and the same immense putting green overlooked by the windows of the clubhouse. The San Martino course, a fairly long par 35 with many water hazards. Try your short game and the Pozzolengo course, with its 9 executive holes that are varied and entertaining. Technical details Benaco/Solferino Course: 9 holes, Par 36, 3427 meters. San Martino Course: 9 holes, Par 35, 2910 meters. Pozzolengo Course: 9 holes, Par 27, 1025 meters Architect: Kurt Rossknecht Topography: Somewhere flat, somewhere hilly; many water hazards.

  • up to 15 days before arrival date: 30 %
  • from 14 to 7 days before arrival date: 50 %
  • from 6 to 4 days before arrival date: 75 %
  • from 3 before arrival to arrival date, late arrival, early departure, no show: 100 %

Minimum cancellation fee: 100.– € per person

Where applicable, other payment conditions and cancellation policies will be applied (on the travel price).

The flight prices, times and availabilities listed in the travel offer, may change any time.

Payment conditions

A deposit of 30 % must be paid within 5 working days from the issue date of the invoice.
The outstanding balance is due 45 days before arrival date.
Reservations of groups from 16 people onwards are subject to different payment conditions.

For each invoice, only centralized payments will be accepted. The group coordinator should collect the participants’ deposit and outstanding balance and settle the invoice. Individual payments of single participants won’t be accepted.

Payment by bank transfer or credit card (VISA or Mastercard). All confirmations of reservation received within 14 working days from the arrival date involve a credit card payment (VISA/MASTERCARD).

General travel conditions valid for all reservations booked through Italia Golf & More AG, based on the federal act on package travel of 18 June 1993 of the Federal Assembly of the Swiss Confederation, based on section 31 sexies and 64 of the Federal Constitution. In compliance with the legislative decree of 17 March 1995, No. 111 of the implematation of Directive 90/314/EEC on package travel, package holidays and package tours, the company or the vendor to whom the customer turns to shall have the administrative authorization to operate in conformity with section 3/1, letter A of the legislative decree No. 111/95.

The contract between the customer and the agency is subject to the law No. 1084 of 27/12/1997 of the ratification and enforcement of the International Treaty on travel contracts, signed in Brussels on the 23.04.1970, and to the above mentioned legislative decree No. 111 of 17.03.1995.

Liability insurance: Italia Golf & More AG subscribed an insurance contract with AXA/Winterthur. As no other insurance is included in the price of the stay, we recommend you to subscribe a travel insurance agreement in the event of travel cancellation.

Security Fund: Italia Golf & More AG is member of the Swiss Travel Guarantee Fund. All members of the fund are insured in case of insolvency or financial distress and can therefore offer this additional security to all customers. In case of insolvency or financial distress of the company, customers will have the right to claim a refund of the amount paid.
