St Andrews is a small town in the kingdom of Fife and is one of the world’s most popular golf destinations. It has a large number of public and private courses. Playing surrounded by this wonderful coastal scenery will be an incredible memory. Many of Scotland’s golf courses are open all year round, so there is no particular season to visit. Course conditions (fairways and greens) remain very good all year round.

Today it has evolved into a fresh and unique golf course, first designed and opened in 1995. The panoramic views of the town of St Andrews and the bay are breathtaking. Here you can experience an exciting game strategically designed to provide risk and reward over 18 holes, suitable for golfers of all abilities. The Duke of St Andrews offers first class service and one of the best golfing experiences in St Andrews.

Golf club page 21.03. — green fee per player: Green fee 18 Holes Kittocks Course (10:15) Situated on the coast of St Andrews, the Fairmont St Andrews Hotel & Golf Resort boasts two wonderful Scottish-style courses: Torrance and Kittocks. The Kittocks course, opened in 2001, offers the best views of the historic town of St Andrews and the coastline. With its wide undulating greens and rolling fairways, this course encapsulates true links golf and is laid out in the traditional style, with the 10th hole being the furthest point away from the clubhouse. This course guarantees an enjoyable round of golf with beautiful views of the sea. The Torrance course – co-designed by Sam Torrance himself – is a traditional par 72. It’s a superb balance of links golf principles and a modern twist, and is arguably the friendlier of the two.
