The Iberostar Selection Bávaro Golf Club, which was redesigned by P.B. Dyle in 2010, is situated in a privileged location in the Dominican Republic thanks to its proximity to the international airport and the hotel zone of Punta Cana. This 18-hole Par 72 is surrounded by the typical tropical vegetation of the island on a flat terrain, but with undulations and crosswind holes to be taken into consideration. The immaculate white 105 bunkers are very characteristic of this layout, especially on the memorable Par 3 8th hole, where the green is shaped like a star (hotel logo) and is surrounded by sand instead of water. In addition, lakes, streams, desert-like areas and even a waterfall come into play. Golfers looking for a challenge can use one of the four farthest tee boxes, which make a maximum length of 6,300 metres, but it is a pleasant course to play with a medium degree of difficulty. Designed by Tom Fazio and inaugurated in 2010, Corales Golf Course is an exclusive and spectacular 18-hole, Par 72 course with six holes by the Caribbean Sea. Its course, with multiple tee boxes, runs along natural cliffs, palm trees, coves and inland lakes creating an exhilarating and memorable experience for every golfer. The last three holes, called “Devil’s Elbow”, are one of the most magnificent finishes in the world of golf, culminating in a striking U-shaped 18th hole that plays around a narrow, cliff-edged bay, a hole a brave golfer would seek out. The Punta Cana Resort & Club is the home of the PGA TOUR in the Dominican Republic and features an extensive practice facility, a barbecue grill overlooking the Caribbean, a bar on the 19th hole of the clubhouse and a beverage cart on the course. La Cana Golf Club is a 27-hole golf course consisting of three courses: Tortuga, Hacienda and Arrecife, 14 of them overlooking the blue Caribbean Sea. Designed by P.B. Dye, it is a perfect course for players of all levels, and as environmentally friendly as possible, as it was the first course in the Caribbean to use paspalum, a grass seed that can be irrigated with seawater.  Tortuga and Par 36 Reef contain 4 memorable holes that are played on the beach. Hacienda at 3,445 metres maximum length, on the other hand is a challenging layout through dense tropical vegetation. Practice facilities include a double-sided driving range, practice bunkers, putting greens and chipping and pitching areas to help you improve your game. In addition, there is a golf academy with video and software analysis instructed by PGA Professionals, snack bar, grill, clubhouse with swimming pool overlooking the sea and the golf course.

Opened in 2006 and designed by the Jack Nicklaus brand, Punta Espada Golf Course has been ranked by Golfweek magazine as the number one golf course in the Caribbean and Mexico for eight consecutive years, and number 35 in the world by Golf Digest, as well as hosting the PGA Champions Tour’s Cap Cana Championship on multiple occasions. This challenging 6,762-metre Par 72 from the Black Tee Box has it all – from immaculately maintained emerald green fairways to its seaside holes with large, undulating, ultra-fast greens. From all points of Punta Espada, golfers enjoy an extraordinary view of the turquoise Caribbean Sea completing a picture-perfect panorama. The course is suitable for golfers of all skill levels, although accuracy on the fairways will be essential as water hazards and sand traps will be waiting for you in the landing area, plus the wind, which if it is strong can complicate your card even more. His signature hole is the Par 3 13th hole which requires a heroic shot over water to reach a green at the tip of the island. Undoubtedly a masterpiece, which if you get the chance should be played.
