Golf Club Perugia - Golf course information & golf holiday offers

When it commemorated its 50th anniversary in 2009, the Golf Club Perugia gave itself a restyling to celebrate in style. The characteristic clubhouse – a lime-kiln from the 1920s, with its two lateral brick towers – simply wasn’t large enough to accommodate the increasing number of members and their demands. Therefore, in total harmony with the architectural style, some of the areas were expanded and new ones were created to make room for the gym and larger, more modern locker rooms. However, the warm and homelike atmosphere of the Umbrian club has remained the same, only a quarter of an hour from the center of Perugia. The club hosted the wonderful edition of the Ladies Italian Open won by the Englishwoman Florentyna Parker in 2014 . Opened in 1959, the course has sections which are typical of the style of the era. To play well here, it isn’t so important to hit the ball far, but to know how to keep it straight on the undulating holes, edged by oaks and pines, and center the small greens with precision. After-golf activities offer many options, beginning with a visit to the historic center of Perugia perched on the Colle del Sole at 500 meters of altitude, one of Italy’s most beautiful art cities with its Etruscan and Roman walls and the medieval Palazzo dei Priori building. Technical Details Course: 18 holes, Par 71, 5763 meters Architect: Arnold Palmer Topography: slightly hilly with a luxuriant vegetation. Distinctive features: slightly hilly course with relatively long holes. However, the luxuriant vegetation requires the highest precision, especially at the first tee and on fast greens. Pro’s Comments Precision is the watchword on this route, which began in 1959! Situated on the hills 6 km from the town, Golf Club Perugia is an interesting test for all levels. A good score will be achieved if the ball is played on very narrow fairways. Some examples are holes 5 and 6, two Par 5s not too long but very very narrow with tiny greens and off-limits on the right. Very advisable!

Golfclub Perugia

Golf course dates from 1959 and you can see that well. On the one hand, a very nice tree population with large old trees that provide a lot of shade on the round The climate on the round is very pleasant. In itself (originally certainly) a beautiful facility, unfortunately, the course is poorly maintained and makes in some places a dilapidated impression. Driving range also old with ancient (!!), partially damaged balls. Restaurant conditionally recommendable.
