The Hotel Miravalle is set in a panoramic position on the top of a hill overlooking the villages surrounding San Miniato. The building boasts over 1000 years of history and it is one of the most important buildings in San Miniato. Built in the X century as a defensive bastion, it was embellished and enlarged around 1170, when the Swabians emperors decided to make San Miniato the center of imperial power in Tuscany. Since then and for the next 150 years, the palace has hosted imperial vicars as well as emperors like Frederick Barbarossa, Otto IV and Henry IV. Today the Hotel Miravalle is an exclusive hotel with 19 comfortable rooms most of which with a beautiful view on San Miniato village. The restaurant Pepenero, mentioned in the 2025 Michelin guide, proposes traditional dishes revamped with a modern touch.
