The 18 holes of Toscana were conceived by the well-known british designer Keith Preston and they have been inaugurated in 1999. Some years later, in 2003, it has been recognized as one of the best ten courses in Italy and it hosts the Alp Tour and several Pro Arms. The course is not particularly long, but it requires precision: there are a lot of water hazards which represent a trap for the players, but, on the other way, their presence enhances the beauty of the place, fairways are always green and cared of, even in the hottest summer season. Each hole has its own character and the fairways are huge. The course is pleasant and sometimes sweetly hilly and offers an amusing and spectacular play. Technical Details Course: 18 holes, Par 71, 5852 meters Architect: Keith Preston Topography: flat at the beginning and then very hilly. Huge greens and a lot of water hazards. Distinctive features: the sport equipment has to be complete: good Quality drivers, precise golf clubs and the best putters. Skill, flexibility And concentration are the qualities needed to play on these greens. Pro’s comments Amidst the Maremma hills, the Golf Club Toscana is technically demanding and full of obstacles. There are water hazards on at least 9 holes. The greens are mostly large, but undulating and difficult to read. There are also various out of bounds near the fairways. The most beautiful view is guaranteed on the tee of the 18th hole, from here you can see as far as the island of Elba, simply wonderful!

Punta Ala Golf Club was established in 1964, with a specific inclination towards tourism, which has been kept over the years, far from the big cities and nestled in a renowned seaside resort, just North of Grosseto. From the very beginning it has been second home of Italian players who have written many pages in the history of golf and who, on these undulated and narrow fairways, have been spending many summers improving their game. The strength of the clubhouse is its panoramic position: from the terrace and from the dining room you can enjoy stunning views over the Gulf of Follonica and over the 1st and 10th holes. The course was designed within the 66 hectares of the estate by Giulio Cavalsani with many elevated greens and technical difficulties which make it greatly appreciated even by the hardest to please players. The fairways run among the natural environment typical of the Tuscan Maremma, through oaks, maritime pines, holm oaks and arbutus bushes. A peculiarity of the course is also the greens’ grain, moving always towards the sea: so, sometimes, a downhill putt has to be played as if a level or even an uphill one and vice versa. Technical Details Course: 18 holes, Par 72, 6168 meters Architect: Giulio Cavalsani Pro’s comments 18 sensational holes, opened to the public in 1964, distinguished by gentle differences in height, narrow and high sloped fairways, but rather large and welcoming greens. Some beautiful views at the 1st and 7th holes, where the backdrop of the sea enhances two downhill tee-shots to the not overly large fairways. The other holes, nestled in the woods of holm-oaks, cork trees and maritime pines are also very intriguing and challenging. It is essential to be able to play upslope or downslope: you will rarely find the ball completely on even ground!
