Veneto was part of the Roman Empire until the 5th century AD. Later, after a feudal period, it was part of the Republic of Venice until 1797. For centuries, Venice ruled over one of the largest and richest maritime republics and trading empires in the world. After the Napoleonic Wars and the Congress of Vienna, the Republic was annexed by the Austrian Empire until it merged with the Kingdom of Italy in 1866 as a result of the Third Italian War of Independence. In addition to Italian, most inhabitants speak Venetian, which is divided into five varieties. The Veneto region, located in the north-east of Italy, is a highly sought-after destination due to its main tourist attraction: Venice. A golf holiday in the region is very easy, as there are international airports in Verona and Venice. Almost all golfers combine a visit to Venice with a round of golf. Golfing in Veneto is amazing because courses are built in a great scenic setting overlooking, for example, the Dolomites, Lake Garda and the Adriatic Sea. Veneto boasts many exciting, challenging courses, rich in tradition, all of which respect the peculiarities of golf. There are 28 golf clubs in the region, most of which offer a relaxed atmosphere. Special courses: Golf della Montecchia and Golf Club Ca’Amata. In addition, there is a variety of beautiful golf resorts in the area. In Veneto you can play golf all year round. From May to October conditions are excellent.

Hotel Terme Bristol Buja – Golf & Wellness in the heart of Abano Terme A golf holiday in Italy is not only about great courses, but also about a hotel that welcomes you as soon as you step off the fairway. This is exactly what makes the Hotel Terme Bristol Buja in Abano Terme so special: here, a passion for golf, thermal wellness and Italian dolce vita come together in perfect harmony. Golfing in style – training facilities right at the hotel What immediately convinced me as a golfer was that the hotel has its own small practice area with a putting green, bunker and even a short 3-hole pitch & putt. Ideal for taking a few swings before your round or practising your putting in the evening. What’s more, the location is excellent: some of the best golf courses in Veneto are just a few minutes’ drive away – Golf della Montecchia, Golf Club Padova and Golf Frassanelle. Each course has its own unique character: from traditional and classic to modern and strategically challenging. Regeneration after your round – thermal baths, pools & spa Anyone who has played 18 holes knows how valuable regeneration is. The hotel scores with several thermal pools (indoor and outdoor), massage jets, underwater loungers and a comprehensive spa area. Whether it’s muscle relaxation in thermal water, a sports massage or a fango treatment – you will immediately feel your body winding down and recharging its batteries. Cuisine that gives golfers energy The cuisine is also a highlight. Start your day with a hearty breakfast ranging from fresh pastries and regional products to healthy options. In the evening, you can look forward to varied menus – light enough to ensure you are fresh on the course the next day, but with enough Italian flavour to give you that holiday feeling on your palate. Atmosphere & service The Terme Bristol Buja is located in a large park with lots of greenery – perfect for finding peace and quiet between rounds. The rooms are modern, comfortable and tailored to different needs. The service is particularly impressive: the staff are golf enthusiasts, organise green fees and transfers, and also take care of your equipment. Why the hotel is ideal for golfers Own practice facility directly at the hotel Short distances to the most beautiful golf courses in the Euganean Hills Extensive wellness and spa facilities for true relaxation Cuisine that combines enjoyment and lightness Service focused on golfers’ needs 👉 Conclusion: The Hotel Terme Bristol Buja is not just a wellness hotel with a golf option – it is a true retreat for golfers who want to combine perfect rounds on challenging courses with regeneration and the Italian way of life.

The Valsanzibio club is the firstborn among Padua’s golf courses, thanks to the support of an entrepreneur, Igino Kofler, who at the end of the Fifties, with a group of friends, wanted to create a course in order to enhance the tourist quality of the well known spa district of Abano and Montegrotto. Originally it was called “Euganeo Golf Club”, but the name is not the only thing that has changed in more than 50 years of history: the present Padua Golf Club, open to the public in 1962, has been extended from the original 18 holes designed by John Harris (Yellow and Blue). In 2003, indeed, 9 additional holes were opened: the Red Course, created by the Venetian architect Marco Croze. The fairways run at the foot of the Euganeas Hills in an outstandingly beautiful setting, a real botanical garden. In the Seventies, the club president was a nurseryman, Benedetto Sgaravatti, who embellished the naturalistic heritage of a rather barren ground with not less than eight thousands trees and shrubs, carefully chosen according to technical landscape criteria. The best background? That of the green of the 2nd hole in the Yellow Course, where you can admire the Diana’s Gate of the eighteenth century Villa Barbarigo: the garden, after your game, is definitely worth a visit. Technical Details Courses: 18 + 9 holes, Par 72/36, 5767/2824 meters Architect: John Harris, Marco Croze Topography: light hilly, many bunkers Distinctive features: in the middle of a valley at the foot of the Euganean Hills. It is mostly a parkland flat course with many water hazards. Thick vegetation at the sides of the fairways.
