Golf del Sur – Golfing with a view of the Atlantic Ocean in Tenerife Golf del Sur in the sunny south of Tenerife is a golf course that has been close to the hearts of many golfers for decades. The former 27-hole course has now been reduced to an 18-hole championship course, but still offers a well-rounded, challenging and spectacularly scenic golfing experience. Location & first impression The course is ideally located between the airport and the coast, less than ten minutes from Tenerife South Airport – perfect for golfers who like things to be straightforward. From the very first tee shot, you’ll notice that this is where the volcanic landscape of the Canary Islands meets true golfing spirit. Black lava soil, green fairways, palm trees, cacti and endless views of the sea – this contrast is what makes Golf del Sur unique. Course design & character The 18-hole course was originally designed by Pepe Gancedo and later redesigned by Manuel Piñero. The result is a varied par-72 course that rewards strategic play and challenges even experienced golfers. Typical features of Golf del Sur: Wide fairways, often bordered by lava fields Large, well-defended greens Numerous bunkers with black sand – not only visually striking, but also tricky to play Constant wind – especially on the open fairways towards the coast Special fairways: A highlight is the famous 3rd fairway, a short par 3 over a deep ravine with lava rock – thrills guaranteed. The long par 5 on hole 5, with a dogleg and water hazard, also leaves a lasting impression. Condition & infrastructure The course is generally well maintained, with lush fairways and manicured greens. The surroundings are dry and sunny – ideal for a relaxed round of golf without any major weather surprises. The facility includes: A driving range with sea views Putting and chipping area Golf school with experienced pros Well-stocked pro shop with popular brands Spacious clubhouse with bar and terrace for a drink after your round Conclusion for golfers Golf del Sur is now a modern, playable 18-hole course with a strong recognition factor. The course thrives on its volcanic terrain, sea views and its fair yet challenging layout. If you are looking for variety, nature and a touch of Canary Island flair, this is the place for you. A course that should definitely be on your list during a golf holiday in Tenerife – especially in combination with the nearby Amarilla Golf or Las Américas courses.

Amarilla Golf
Golf club page 10.03. — green fee per player: Green Fee 18 Holes (10:00) Amarilla Golf & Country Club is located in the south of Tenerife, directly by the sea. This course impresses with its magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Teide volcano. Designer Donald Steel knew how to use the beautiful contrasts of the island to create a varied golf course between mountains, valleys and the Atlantic coast. The highlight of the Amarilla Golf course is the impressive 5th hole, a true jewel for the golf lover. Here, the ocean becomes the fairway that must be played over if you want to reach the green. Another element of this course are the small greens and the undulating fairways, which make the game varied but not too difficult.
Golf Costa Adeje

12.03. — green fee per player: Green Fee 18 Holes (10:00)
Designed by the prestigious golf architect Jose Gancedo, Golf Costa Adeje is situated just a few kilometres from Playa de las Americas with views of the sea and the island of La Gomera. The complex, home of the Canarias Open de España (2003-2014) and the Tenerife Ladies Open (2005-2008-2009) has an 18 hole Par 72 Championship course and a 9 Hole Los Lagos. The Championship course, Par 72, has a total length of 6203 meters, with 6 par 5 between 519 to 477 meters, 6 par 4 between 420 to 367 meters and 6 par 3 between 220 to 118 meters. Pepe Gancedo took advantage of the natural characteristics of the terrain and created a course that meanders through an undulating landscape with fast greens, strategically placed where more than one experienced player will be surprised. The fairways are in paspalum and the greens are in tifEagle, which allows the course to be irrigated with purified water. The Lakes are a little shorter, but more technical. Overlooking the sea and with its 6 lakes it makes the game interesting and fun where also high handicappers can enjoy this sport. Additional facilities at Costa Adeje include a driving range situated above a natural ravine offering three tee levels at different heights. There is also a practice bunker, 2 putting greens, chipping greens and a clubhouse.
