The Montgomerie Dubai Golf Club

The Montgomerie Dubai Golf Club has been laid out over 265 hectares by designers Colin Montgomerie and Desmond Muirhead. Its course, over 7000 meters from the black tees, offers the golfer undulating link-land style fairways, with wide and deceptive landing areas, as it has 81 sand bunkers well distributed around the course and 14 lakes that can be circumvented with precise shots. Its generous greens have a lot of shape and can turn an easy putt into a double bogey. A peculiar hole is the Par 5 on the 4th, a dogleg with two bunkers guarding the green resembling the eyes of a snake. However, it is the final Par 5 hole, a true golfing gem 600 meters long, requiring a great shot to avoid the water on the front of the green. Dare to reach the green in two! Golfers will have at their disposal golf courses at the Academy to improve their game and hone their skills, both indoors and outdoors, including a virtual swing studio, a nine-hole golf course and a Par 3 Academy course from sunrise to sunset. You can also enjoy the Clubhouse, which features a full-service fitness center, swimming pool overlooking the 18-hole course and an elegant spa, as well as four restaurants and lounges.

Golf club page 11.02. — green fee per player: Green Fees 18 Holes (10:00) Carved out of the desert and just 15 minutes from downtown Dubai, Gary Johnston designed the Dubai Hills with two back nine holes, one clockwise and the other counterclockwise. The front nine has elevation changes with wadis or valleys while the back nine incorporates lakes and is more desert in style. The undulating greens and bunkers will be a great challenge to achieve a good score, and every shot will be accompanied by the impressive skyline of Dubai and the sublime Burj Khalifa.

Golf club page 13.02. — green fee per player: Green Fees 18 Holes (10:00)

Ernie Els, a passionate fan of the great links courses of the United Kingdom, where he has even won two of his four major championships, created in 2008 the Els Club Dubai where he recreated some of these characteristics of British courses in a desert landscape. Thus was born a “desert links”, which was quickly acclaimed by professionals from the media world. The course is laid out in two nine-hole out-and-back loops over 6,800 metres and four sets of tees, giving players a choice of different lengths from which to play. The course offers players a challenging course, with pleasant undulations and strong elevation changes for visual and strategic interest. The vast arrangement of sandy waste areas and native grasses and vegetation between the wide fairways, along with a classic bunkering style, contribute to the links effect. However, it adds large water hazards on the 7th and 15th holes. Fabulous facilities include a bar, restaurant, 450 yard driving range, 2 short game greens and 3 practice bunkers.
