Piedmont golf region – enjoyment, nature and first-class golf courses Piedmont is a real insider tip for discerning golfers who are looking for more than just fairways and greens. Nestled between the foothills of the Alps and rolling hills, this region in north-western Italy offers an impressive backdrop for a golf holiday that perfectly combines sport, cuisine and culture. Golf holidays in Piedmont – varied and authentic Those who play golf in Piedmont will experience a successful mix of well-maintained golf courses, authentic Italian lifestyle and breathtaking scenery. The courses are nestled among vineyards, forests and nature parks – and are significantly less crowded than other golf regions in Italy. This makes the region particularly attractive for anyone who wants to be active in a relaxed atmosphere. Top golf courses in Piedmont One of the best-known courses is the Bogogno Golf Club, which boasts two championship courses – Bonora and Conte. Both courses are varied, perfectly maintained and challenging. Also recommended: the traditional Circolo Golf Torino, which regularly hosts international tournaments, and the elegant Golf Club Castelconturbia, a true classic among Italy’s top courses. Smaller, charming courses such as the Golf Club Margara or Golf Colline del Gavi are also worth a visit. Best time to travel and climate The golf season in Piedmont is long – conditions are usually ideal from March to the end of October. In spring and autumn, the climate is pleasantly mild, and in summer it is warm but often refreshing due to the high altitude – perfect for a round in the afternoon and a glass of Barolo in the evening. Enjoyment on and off the course What makes Piedmont so special is the combination of sporting excellence with a genuine culture of enjoyment. The region is world-famous for its wines (Barolo, Barbaresco, Dolcetto), its fine cuisine featuring truffles, pasta, game and cheese – and, last but not least, its charming agriturismi, small wineries and stylish resorts, which are often located right next to the golf courses. Conclusion: Golf holidays in Piedmont – relaxed, stylish, high-quality If you are looking for a golf destination that combines sporting excellence with Italian flair, good food and scenic beauty, Piedmont is the place for you. Whether as a short break or an extended pleasure trip, golf in Piedmont is an experience that will remain in your memory for a long time to come.

Golf Club La Margherita

02.02. — green fee per player: Green Fee 18 Holes (10:00)
There are two golf complexes thirty kilometers south of the center of Turin which are distinct yet complementary, for a total of 36 holes in all: the Golf Club I Girasoli and the Golf Club La Margherita. The latter regularly hosts national level competitions and championships. Designed by Marco Croze and Giorgio Ferraris, the 18-hole course, a par 72, it is the complex’s pride and joy. Continuous improvements and constant maintenance have taken it to such a high level of excellence that several editions of the Alps Tour, a third-tier professional circuit, have been hosted there and it was included among the 30 best clubs in Italy. The course demands good technique, but is enjoyable to play even for golfers with high handicaps, as long as they find the right motivation to improve their levels. 20 cozy guestrooms are available inside the complex. The position is ideal as it can be easily and quickly reached, due to its convenient location close to the Carmagnola exit on the Turin-Savona motorway. Technical Details Course : 18 holes, Par 72, 5840 meters Architect : Marco Croze & Giorgio Ferraris Topography : a little hilly, large fairways, a lot of water obstacles Special features : very varied course, which represents a real challenge at all game levels Pro’s Comments Don’t miss this 18-hole course. Just difficult enough with small and steeply sloping greens, the Margherita leaves no room for lapses in concentration. On the first nine holes, allow me to mention Hole 5, a long par 5 with a water hazard on the first shot and greens that slope steeply toward the fairway. Hole 7, a par 4 with a peninsula green with frontal water where it is very important to place the first shot. On the second nine, the very long Hole 16 par 5 with an out of bounds on the right and water on the left on the second and third shots, and Hole 18 par 4 which is great fun and gives powerful players the opportunity to decide whether to risk passing over a water hazard located 230 meters from the tee so as to have a comfortable approach shot to the pin. You must try it.

Golf Club Margara

04.02. — green fee per player: Green Fee 18 Holes (10:00)
Founded in 1972 by Dr. Glauco Lolli Ghetti, today the Margara Golf Club is a renowned golf club both nationally and internationally. With two 18-hole championship courses, every year it welcomes tourists and professional golfers from all over the world. The oldest course, “Glauco Lolli Ghetti”, named after its founder, has a Parkland-type structure: it is surrounded by trees that are now imposing, has wide fairways that extend over the rolling hills of Monferrato and greens that put even the most experienced players to the test. The more recent “La Guazzetta” course, completed in 2006, is also 18 holes and has a more modern, links-style character, with wide bunkers that design the slopes and covers important distances. Margara has hosted 22 European Challenge Tours, 1 Italian Ladies Open and every year is the scene of several Italian National Championships. Technical Details Course : 18+18 holes, par 72/72, 6048/6176 meters Architect : Topography: Sometimes hilly landscape with some woods, sometimes flat Distinctive features: It has a varied topography that requires a good strategy from the player who must continually adapt his play to the landscape. Pro’s comments The two Margara courses have a great virtue. If you don’t face them from the furthest tees, they are entertaining and stimulating for all playing levels. The Glauco Lolli Ghetti 18-hole course hosted tournaments on the European Challenge Tour for 17 years and all the professionals have always given very positive reviews of the course. The amen corner (Holes 15, 16, 17,18) must be faced with great attention and respect: 4 very delicate holes that can ruin your score in no time. La Guazzetta is very long but also very wide except for Holes 10 and 11 where erring to the right is absolutely forbidden. A forest thick with water hazards is waiting there to receive your sliced shots. So be careful!!!!!
