The headland Ras Abu Soma is colloquially called “Soma Bay” together with Soma Bay. Soma Bay is in the immediate vicinity of the town of Safaga and about 50 km from Hurghada. Somabay Golf and Country Club The Cascades is not only the first golf course to open on the western coast of the Red Sea, but it is also the first championship golf course to be created in the Middle East, designed by one of the “Big Three”, the Big Three (Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer), namely Gary Player. The 18-hole, par 72 course offers unforgettable views of lush and exemplarily manicured fairways that contrast impressively with the rugged desert and the crystal clear blue waters of the sea.
