Opened in 1976, the Almerimar golf course was designed by Gary Player and Rob Kirby and is one of the most popular attractions on the Almeria coast. The golf course combines water hazards and palm trees with wide fairways and a large amount of vegetation.

The golf course originally had 18 holes, par 72. In 2005, the golf course was extended with another 9 holes to become a spacious 27-hole golf course.
