After a successful international golf career alongside champions such as Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player, Peter Matkovich found his true calling as a golf course designer. His uniquely organic design philosophy, which he describes as “listening to the land”, has helped him successfully design golf courses that have gained recognition and affection throughout Southern Africa.

Talking about his experience in designing Mont Choisy Le Golf, he says: “16 years ago, I walked for the first time along the beautiful “Allée des Flamboyants” that leads to the old estate of Mont Choisy. Looking at this lovely landscape with its rolling sugar cane fields, I began to dream of building an 18-hole golf course here that would stand out naturally.
